The only place I had to be this past Sunday was my couch and the library.

I didn’t think I would be taking any outfit photos so I foolishly walked out of the apartment with 9% battery left on my phone. Hence, these poor quality photos shot on Vadim’s Samsung 8 that doesn’t transfer well onto an iPhone. Does anyone know why this is? Anyway, I digress.

At first I thought, I like this outfit because I’m wearing a summer bag in the winter and I have on sweatpants with rose gold flats. I haven’t seen that before! I know, I’m such a trendsetter (not at all).

I figured I would use the photo for Instagram and didn’t think much of it until I looked at it again today. Turns out, I wore a “groutfit”, an all gray outfit!

According to this Racked article, it’s when you give up on purpose and opt for straight up comfort. This describes my mood prior to putting on this outfit. It was sunny, unseasonably warm, and I was confused. I wanted to make my outfit count since every outfit for the winter was beginning to feel like a really sad uniform. I imagined wearing my silver boots with jeans and that idea went out the window as soon as I realized that I was walking to the library and then back onto my couch.

So instead, I kept my sweatpants on (I love these James Perse ones so much, disclaimer: the waist tie needs to be tied every so often because the butt sags with wear), threw on my favorite sweater and my rose gold flats for a pop of color. I think a pair of white sneakers would look really good with this too. I completed the look with my favorite sunglasses (that actually fit my face) and my straw bag for a reminder that summer is coming soon.

I actually really liked how this look turned out. Who knew a groutfit could make me so happy. Also, since I’m wearing sweatpants does that count as “athleisure” (wearing workout clothes for anything other than working out)? Because that would make this an athleisure groutfit. Perhaps, that is one too many made up words in one sentence.

What are your thoughts on the groutfit? Would you wear it?
