Add to closet: Corduroy

corduroy skirt look

I have so much excitement and nostalgia for this corduroy skirt. It reminds me of this red corduroy overall dress that I wanted so much when I was younger.  My mom told me at the time that it was too trendy and would go out of style soon. And for her, if I couldn’t wear it for years, there was no way she was going to buy it for me. And almost two decades later, corduroy has made its way into my closet.

I would compare corduroy to your coziest Fall blanket that you pull out of the closet when nights begin to get cooler. It’s soft, comfortable, and makes me feel a bit better about letting go of Summer. I guess now that Fall seems like it’s fast approaching, it’s time to gear up with some cozy pieces.
